Diana Inquest - don't forget that ..... 16 Years, 1 Month ago
... only 9 of the Jurors voted for the verdict.

Hardly compelling, is it, when a quarter of the Jury (who have sat through all the evidence) don't agree with the verdict !

I think we should have another inquest.

All I know is that it has been a complete waste of time.

Unlawful killing due to the chauffeur's drinking and the paparazzi, which we all knew was the case over 10 years ago.

This should have been a private inquest, not reported through the media.

The BBC devoted 20 minutes of a 30 minute programme to this, and then repeated the format at 10-00, in case anyone was not bored already. Nicholas Witchell has been their for the 100 days or so, he must have been completely fed up.

After today, I would hope that no more mention of this is made in the papers, it shows no respect for William and Harry and they should let Diana rest in piece. Especially some of the papers, they are still obsessed with her now.

I do sincerely hope Al Fayed finds closure as well, if my daughter dies before me, I would quite naturally be devastated, however, it is now time to move on with the life.

I think your comments shows that they did not agree with the majority.

If a quarter of the Inquest Jury were not convinced - they why on earth should the rest of us?

I agree that it was a waste of time. If you have an inquest where the MAIN players were not even giving evidence then it's unlikely to reach a genuine verdict. A bit like the Hutton inquiry where the terms of reference dictated the outcome.

After today, I would hope that no more mention of this is made in the papers, it shows no respect for William and Harry and they should let Diana rest in piece. Especially some of the papers, they are still obsessed with her now.

The Princes' use Diana's name when it suits them - remember their "concert" ?

The Government are largely to blame - if an inquest had been heard at the time the verdict may have been more widely accepted.

I say again - IF the Jury are NOT unanimously convinced, then why should the rest of us be ?

That's the fair point on all counts, although in the case of the princes concert, it was the 10th anniversary of her death. However, you are probably right about them using their names in other instants.

I am surprised that the Sun (which was bought by one of my colleagues) only contains three pages of it.

25% is a lot of doubters.

Especially as they were the ones who DID sift the "evidence" !

Most of the main theories seem to have been "glossed over" imo - for example, whether MI6 was involved seemed to consisent entirely of asking one of their people whether they had murdered Diana - and then simply accepting their denial ! Did anyone expect them to admit it??!!

Although I've not read everything factors such as the embalming of the body (actually illegal under French law until an inquest has taken place) seem to have also been glossed over. Why was this done - and on whose orders? What was being covered up?

As was "why she was taken to the furthest hospital" rather than 2 closer ones, and also why the ambulance parked in a side street for some time.

All in all, I think this will go down as another Hutton Inquiry - an inquiry designed NOT to find the truth !

I think we need an inquest into the inquest!

The fact not all of the jury agreed, we should assume they believe Diana was killed by MI6, proves she was murdered!

If the inquest was 100% in agreement with anything other than "It woz MI6 wot dun it" that proves it was fixed!

We should hold perpetual inquiries until the right verdict (One ITK and Al Fayed agree with) is reached!

WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

I don't know what happened to Diana and Dodi but if the British establishment ( whoever they are) want to get rid of you they do.

I knew Charles first butler who Diana had fired when they got married and he sold his story in the USA for big bucks and was the first to really sell his story. But he always said it was the biggest mistake crossing the most powerful family on the planet (or more importantly -those around them). He got hassled everytime he travelled anywhere in the world and they made his life a misery. He finally died of cancer.

Tony Benn has always said the "establishment" would do away with the Royal Family if it suited their purposes. I guess that's why Prince Phillip always says "don't shoot us-we can be packed and gone in half an hour"

Too much time at the inquest was spent talking to people like Burrell - who was not even in Paris. All his evidence was, was rumour and gossip from previous years.
