So, it's official, the commons result tonight has been announced. As of 2007 smoking in ALL public places will be banned. Just interested in people's thoughts about this??. I for one am all in favour of it. It has worked well in other countries who have adopted the ban and it will surely lead to less deaths from passive smoking and healthier environments, also the fact that your clothes and hair won't smell of smoke when in a pub/club is a positive for me!.

As a 20+ a day smoking couple, we are quite happy smoking outside any restuarant, but the not smoking outside thing, could prove an issue.
I am not to bothered though, personally, I gave up for 13 years before and can do it again.
The main point is though....Has the government worked out where the extra customs and excsise revenue will come from?

I am a smoker and I fully support the ban.

Those smokers that whinge about their "right" are adicts in severe denial.

I welcome the decision. Smoking is seriously anti-social. This is one occasion where health and common sense have been considered more important than money.

You mean we no longer have the right to endanger the lives of our neighbours? That is shocking!!!
