TOPIC: Britain's Not Got Talent

Britain's Not Got Talent 15 Years, 11 Months ago
Clearly according to the great TV god ITV... we are all talentless. Is this the best they can do? I'm sure if Mr King was involved the finalists wouldn't have even seen the inside of a studio. What is going on?

Well as long as people sit goggle eyed in front of this crap and want to be on it or mock it, it will exist.

I've only seen a handful of the acts. Two of them were very good, but both were eliminated. I'm not a fan of Ant and Dec, so I mostly avoid their shows. I'm quite baffled by the selection of judges. Amanda Holden votes for the guys she thinks are "hot", and Piers Morgan seems clueless, while Simon Cowell is more concerned with image than substance.

But if enough people watch it ....

I can`t knock Piers, although critically I feel I should in a cynical way.
But, he has a knack of knowing what the majority of people want.

Well we didn`t watch it, but have read the results in the papers etc, and before I say my bit here, I must say I have no idea what the winners actually did , or, any idea of their potential.

What I will say though, is that it concerns me that the BBC winner is too young to be pushed like he probably will be and has a nasty chance of failing as a result, in an extremely competitive business currently, in only slightly later lif, as a result of a huge push being given too early in life.
If we must hold these competitions, can we not make the winner the old guy that can play Beethovens` 5th through a kettle again whilst juggling 10 skittles and wearing a cloth cap so that it is fun and not deemed as relevent?

The winner, George Sampson, is a street dancer with a massive following already - probably explaining his win as they have been using the social networking sites to encourage votes. I think his act is limited and he may not be pursuing it beyond his teens, but

Well Mart, our TV executives have clearly shown what they most like on TV is children crying.

Be it through happiness or, more often, misery when they fall fat on their faces.

We viewers apparently love it so they encourage it. Great ratings.
