My very favourite fish with a texture and flavour all of its own.

I remember grilling one for my Mum and serving it with a pat of butter - so simple - and she said it was the best meal she'd ever had.

I recommend mackerel if you've never tried one. Cheap, simple, delicious and incredibly good for you - packed with really good stuff like Omega 3.

There was so much fish on the prog today that I have just got a rainbow trout out of the freezer for later, which I have been saving.

I thought that the little Indian chef guy was really good also, I had to watch him cook one of paneer recipes that I do regularly and was interested that he actually coated the cheese first in the flour and spices.
I do this the other way around usually and coat the cheese in the spices whilst it is hot after cooking.I don`t use flour though at all with the hard to find ingredient.

It was also notable that the meat knowledge that appeared on todays programme, backed up some daft idea that I have had for years, a cow would appear to not need the fillet bit of meat on their body!
Why do we not humanely remove it and let them live longer? Only a tiny scar surely!
