The only real "witness" in this case is someone who's been noticeable by her absence. Did the jury hear directly from Shannon herself? It seems to have been barristers quoting her and people saying what they had overheard or what they believed to be the truth. It all seems to have been handled quite shabbily.

I'm sorry, I would normally be supportive of virtually everyone, even the worst killers, having experienced the way the police, the media and the lawyers twist and bend and exaggerate the facts.

But from the moment I watched that awful "we miss you SOOO much" TV performance I shuddered.
It personified everything I experienced from the amateur compensation seekers.
Her "convincing" appeals reeked of the same acting skills I witnessed first hand.

Yes BR but I reckon, in this case, even most police will be shocked by how easily they were conned and it may actually help strike down other convincing false accusers.

I know, in my case, many police working on the case hated what they were being forced to do. I've heard from enough of them, either in person or anonymously, to believe the majority despised the line from above.

It is so easy to persuade men and women to fine tune their memories, lower the ages, to make nothing into something, even just to say pleasure was unhappiness.

I do agreee with JK. She is A typical of many of her ilk. Men are often portrayed as revolting and monster like...and as Matthews and the mother of Baby P go to show...behind every abused child there is a woman.
