good message
..I hope it begins to sink in with the general public how they are hoodwinked on so many occasions whether by the media, police or politicians.
By 2008 I thought it would be far different to how it is now..that truth would be valued highly and principles and human values would be cherished.
Instead it's the opposite-we have a media where profit is the only thing that matters and any amount of lies or exagerations will be told in the pursuit of that profit.
That can mean one person is incarcerated for an alleged sex crime (where all sanity flies out the window) with police and politicians colluding..not necessarily by outright corruption but by being like-minded in their goals, or a war pursued in Iraq with thousands of civilians -where men, women and children can die needlessly because of the vanity of politicians who refuse to admit their mistakes, or an odious press baron like Rupert Murdoch will shamelessly beat the war drums and not give a hoot about the outcome.
However we do have a chance to correct all this-
the internet which came from the most unlikely of sources-the
CIA.
The net has been an amazing tool for so many to get the truth out and for thousands of others to realize they are not alone in their thoughts and beliefs when they just know something is wrong with the system but they can't quite put their finger on it.
And because of that I believe freedom of the internet is where the next battles will be fought..the freedom we currenty enjoy but which is under threat by politicians who simply cannot abide the people having their own voice and the corporate media who want to own the net and willingly promote the so-called evils of the net as justifiction for cracking down on it's free use.
Let's not let them get away with it..
Freedoms are hard won and easily lost!
