The deal is as good as done according to Manchester City FC's billionaires. The 'world's greatest player' on his way. Let's just hope that Kaka understands which club he's signed to unlike Robinho who thought he'd signed for Chelsea. Arsene Wenger says he doesn't envy Man City believing that great teams are formed from within...'Buying prepackaged superstars doesn't always mean you will acquire the best team..' as Alex Ferguson has gone to prove.

City are currently fighting to stay clear of relegation and should the unthinkable happen and they end up a Championship side come next season one can only start to shudder for the fans, should the owners walk away leaving a mass of debt and of course no Kaka... Chelsea will snap him up or he'll go back to Milan.

Manchester City are in conclusion on the verge of greatness or unprecedented disaster.

Mark Lawrenson was right. He said that the fact Kaka played at the weekend suggested that he wasn't planning on moving. Why risk injury to a £100m player just before you sell him?

Alan Shearer said that the fact that Kaka did not swap shirts but collected the match ball suggested that he was probably moving and keeping them as memories of his last game for the club.

City were given permission to talk to the player, but apparently Kaka had no intention of moving.

I do agree with Mark Lawrenson that, at a time when most City fans were struggling to pay the bills and worried about losing their homes, it would send out wrong signals to pay one player £250,000 per week

£250,000 per week, is was more like £600,000 per week. I think the main reason why Kaka didn't go to Man City is because there is very little chance of winning trophies in the next few years with City. Also the money would be little incentive, I mean he is already mega-rich, how much money do you need? and when you spend it it doesn't give you what you expect.

Personally I like challenges. It's too much of an easy ride to join a team that's already at the top. Much more interesting and fun to join a lower team and try help them get to the top. Also more rewarding when it happens.
