Bill has decided to take a break from BBC's Springwatch and will not be in the next series. It hasn't been decided yet whether anyone will replace him or if Kate Humble will present it solo. I read several letters from viewers who did not understand his humour and thought he talked over Kate Humble too much. I watched the last few editions to see if he really did talk over her, but it was actually she who was the more dominant, so I guess it was just the whinings of a few Oddie bashers. I think he made the show more accessable for people who otherwise find wildlife boring (which I don't).

That's sad news. He enjoyed it so much. He and Humble worked well together. It certainly wont be the same without him.
