I'm still don't know why I'm being encouraged to feel more sorry for Jade Goody than for the many other people who are suffering from the same condition. I always feel sad when people die earlier than they should, and for any family left behind, but there are many who have contributed more and have less material wealth to leave for their children. On one hand it's understandable that Goody wants to make sure her children are provided for, but on the other hand I'm sure they would more appreciate as much special time with their mother while she is here. She's already planning a million pound wedding so she can't be short of a bob or two. She should spend this time with her family instead of in the public eye.
Pratchett is different because he's helping people understand more about a condition which is still somewhat of a mystery. He is sharing his experience of it rather than wallowing in the emotion of it.
Again I can perfectly understand cynicism towards Max Clifford. However Jade is clearly motivated by the best of intentions and even if part of her is doing it because she craves attention then in her current situation I wouldn't begrudge her this.
She has overcome much in her life including some hounding by the tabloids a few years back when they branded her the most hated woman in the UK.
