Shock U Turn by New Labour over FOI 15 Years, 2 Months ago

Once again New Labour ignores a hearing that says it must publish the minutes of this meeting.

I would hope that the first thing that CAMERON does on getting into office is to publish in full the minutes of that meeting.

New Labour pass a FOI ( Freedom of Information ) law and say they believe in open government and with the first challenge they lock the door and wont let the public see what they discussed on the most important meeting of the cabinet in recent years.

They are a dictatorship who act without any scrutiny and who must be removed by the people. We need to MARCH on 28th MARCH - and if there is more than 3 million of us maybe we should sit in on Downing Street until Brown resigns.

"There is a balance to be struck between openness and maintaining aspects of our structure of democratic government."

Is it just me or is this something Saddam or Stalin or Mugabe (print more money) might have said?

Weasel words, to be sure. But what else would you expect from a rodent like Jack Straw?

One thing that strikes me spending time betwen Oz & the UK with the USA, likewise-it seems that both major political parties have become virtual mirrors of each other.

Yet in most of Europe you have political parties that have clearly defined policies that differ from their opponents.

It should be hoped that Cameron will be different-as it seems he will eventually be the next PM of Britain (unless Brown goes in a party coup)

The transformation of Labour during the rule of Nu Labour under Blair has been simply astounding.

Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing !

I think it was said to Sir Humphrey Applebey in that wonderful series "Yes Prime Minister". He was told by the head of the civil service that "Open Government is a contradiction. You can be open or you can have have government".Or maybe the reason that they havent been released is that they havent been writen yet!
