How cynical, you seem certain that this was a stunt without a shred of evidence to back it up. The story is very high profile and thus there are going to be lots of nutters that become aware of it and thus one such nutter visits Jade. When I read the headline in the sun "Hammer nut visits Jade", I thought it was a massive MC Hammer fan!!

it's a scene out of a Hammer Horror Film...you can picture it..you wake up to see Mad Max the agent...with eyes ablaze..heading toward your hospital bed holding a pillow..because you refuse to die on time for the ratings !!

At least Clifford took Jade to one side and quietly explained that even he coudn't arrange a 'State funeral' which is what Goody had requested.

She also wanted to die on live TV.

The whole blessed thing is bizarre, mad and clearly demonstrates how the culture of celebrity and the tabloids has become a monster on legs!!

Michael Jackson, according to Max Clifford, tried to phone her but could not get through. He had hoped to drop in to visit her but instead sent her a supportive message. I have no problem with him doing that. Considering that he's already sold out his UK tour I don't think he's attempting to use Goody as extra publicity. He doesn't need to.

I think it's Max Clifford using him for publicity.

Let's not forget that Michael Jackson and Gary Glitter carried out the same crime as far as the legal system were concerned. 1 got found guilty , 1 got found not guilty, though both admitted to having children in bed with them and the evidence was almost identical.

Jacko may still sell out but there are a lot of people who think he was guilty and won't be so welcoming when he comes over.

I don't think Jackson and Glitter did carry out the same crime. Glitter got caught with thousands of images of child porn on his computer, Jackson didn't. Jackson doesn't have a reputation for travelling around the world's top paedophile hot spots (Cambodia, VietNam, Cuba?). Also Jackson has a sort of youthfull childlike image that women seem to warm to, whereas Glitter is a fat bald middle-aged man.

I agree with Angel. I am not a fan of Jade Goody and definitely not of this celebrity nonsense we are surrounded by. However, she is dying and deserves some respect.

I'm alarmed to hear "tabloid talk" on here. As far as I know Michael Jackson has committed no crime (except in bad taste to the plastic surgery industry).

He was found "not guilty" of any crime he was charged with. Yes-he and Glitter both said kids slept in their bed but I would argue that as 90% of child abuse happens within the family any parent who allows their children to sleep in the same bed could come under suspicion.

And as many of those kids remain faithful friends of Jackson's as they have gotten older, I respect the court's decision.

As for GG-he put his hand up for the porn charges but only got 4 months which indicates it wasn't the worst catergory (and you would be surprised what passes for "child porn"...what is illegal in the UK is legal in the USA.

As to "world's top paedophile hot spots"..you should have included the USA and UK in your list-both have far more prosecuted cases of child sexual abuse than any of the countries you mention (and indeed..far more actual child abuse of all kinds).

I hope I don't come under suspiscion-I travel to Thailand on a regular basis although I do belong to an active group (because of Thailand's popularity as a gay tourist destinaton) of local Western & Thai businessmen actively working against child sex tourism and prostituion.

Tabloids and the BBC have actively promoted the image of the country as a safe destination for those who wish to engage in illegal activty-it isn't (or at your peril).

I have no idea what went on with GG in Cambodia but it's a incredibly corrupt country (as Thailand can be)

Once charged-a finding of 'innocent' is so rare you can count them on one finger. Significantly in Cambodia-several charges agianst GG were dropped when he paid a (legal) sum of money to the parents. So much for the morality of the law..sounds to me like a blackmailer's charter.

As for Cuba-I intend to visit this year as I've always been fascinated by the place and I wish to visit while Castro is still alive-once he dies Cuba will become like Miami..ghastly.

People should remember-many of these far East countries have huge populations of ex-pats because they are so cheap to live..your pension goes ten times as far. Dreams of playing golf on deep green course for days on end can become a reality for a Brit who could never afford to back home.

As for corruption, I do note Jackson lived in Dubai for some time.

If you want to see real corruption-if you want to see real abuse, child and otherwise where people are still bought and sold as products, then the upper classes of Middle East countries still knock Asia into a cocked hat.There are 2 systems of law-one for the very rich and one for everyone else and that includes Saudi Arabia. It must have been 15 years ago now so I'm not sure if anyone can remember the case of Ryan, an American boy who died of AIDS at age 15.

He was given the most horrendous time when younger-ostracised by schools, authorities and friends until Elton John and Michael Jackson came to his aid with moral support.

It was a great example of celebrities using their fame in a good way-they turned this boy's last few years into joy, keeping regular contact with him, visiting when they could.

I believe it was a turning point in the USA of how the general public viewed AIDS and removed much suspicion.

Jackson appears wacky..I know J.Randy Taroborelli his biographer and the one Jackson used early on to release the wierdest stories about himself..such as sleeping in an oygen tent.

He describes Jackson as the strangest perosn he's ever known..part child in his thinking and part great showman but a complex thinker..but also one who genuinely devoted much time and money to charitabe causes, only publicising a small amount of this. A bit like Princess Diana.

As far as I'm concerned, if she wants to spend her last days in pursuit of personal wealth to hand down to her kids then good luck to her. However, the way the media is painting her as heroic and campaigning for a cause is total drivle. Many men and women have genuinely devoted their final days to raising awareness of and money for cancer research without the slightest interest from the media. Many of those were also leaving children behind. If young women are getting tested after reading about Jade Goody then fine, but let's not pretend that this is her main intention.

I can't help but get the feeling that Jade is probably unaware of half the headlines she is getting, let alone what the Maz-meister is telling the press.

That is what makes this story unsettling and sickening - the Clifford factor. He is raking in a lot of money - just what percentage will he be getting out of Jade? That is what morally stinks - the fact he is profiting from the death of Jade and the tales he is spinning about it. Also notice how HE ensures HIS name is forever mentioned. Having Jade shoved down our throats is one thing, but to have Clifford's name virtually daily is something else and this proves how low this odious slimeball will sink.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I wouldn't want Clifford's karma for all the tea in the World.
