44 whales had to be humanely killed after beaching themselves in Cape Town. This link contains footage that may be upsetting to some.

Further research on the subject shows that the Whales were shot. This has caused a big stink in SA over the authorities decision to shoot the whales. I can only assume that it was the omly way. Wouldnt like to have to dispose of the bodies though, wonder where they will put them. Bit of a problem for the local council i would think.
