As the owner {did I really just say that? A better word would be, perhaps, client} of 8 myself, what is glaringly obvious about this tagline is the redundancy of the last two words. Cats exploit humans. Period.

Absolutely. I'm a DOG lover and though I'm fine with cats and they are fine with me, we clearly don't actually like each other.

Cats are a disgrace and I don't need scientists to tell me they exploit humans.

I saved one a year ago from the Cat Protection League..a scrawny hungry female that had just had kittens (almost a baby herself-slut!).

Now it's grown fat and lazy and does absolutely nothing but lies around all day either staring at me or sleeping.

Then it has the cheek to nudge me for food..and not just ordinary cat's food but top range canned fish that I can't even afford to eat.

I mean this is a cat straight from the gutter that lived out of garbage cans but she acts like the Queen of Sheba !

I adore her.

Cats are wonderful. Very manipulative but very wonderful all the same.

Fantastic article.

Cats look at me and know I've sussed them. They tolerate me, are polite to me, submit to stroking, purr on cue and feel about me exactly the same as I feel about them.

Give me a dog - ANY dog - any day.

I know what you mean my cat does the samething. She bangs on my door in the early hours crys for food when she got some in her dish. Crys till you give in and with attention she gets bored before you do which is fine by me.

Sorry to be totally non PC here - but there are some striking similarities between cats' behaviour and that of some women ( Heather Mills for instance ) and the way they treat their partners / husbands.

I love cats, they are much more intelligent and sophisticated than dogs. Dogs hassle you and jump all over you when you they first meet you and leave their dirty footprints all over the floor. Cats give you a gentle nudge and have a lovely purr like a rolls royce.
They don't need walking, their curiosity is endearing and their coordination and balance is superb.

Cats don't bark and and get aggresive easily like dogs and cats are cheaper than dogs. My first cat Nibbs was friendly to anyone and everyone all she wanted in life was a stroke and tickle under the chin may she R.I.P.

My current cat Shanti is pain the arse and very annoying less friendly and don't like being stroked much but she don't fight other cats as she is scared of them.

This is a nice thread here.

I always find that people who keep cats are more sophisticated and cultured than dog lovers. Dog lovers are generally more agressive and use their dog as a status symbol or macho accessory.

cats are calmer, prettier and more genteel. Cats are intelligent too.
my previous cat, cindy used to hassle my dad for food when he went to work at 7am. However she wouldn't eat the food for a while, its just that she knew that Knowone else would be getting up for a couple of hours so she should pre-order the food!!

You've yet to meet our cat, Feargal. He gets on with everybody - including our Border Terrier.

I know what you mean. And Dogs are nothing like Women. Try locking one in a cupboard for an hour then letting them out. The dog will be over excited and happy to see you. The woman won't talk to you for days!!!

I couldn't agree more and they are as calm, pretty and genteel as their owners.

When I picked mine up from the pound I particularly wanted one that stayed indoors. I read their profiles and chose the tattiest one.."loves indoors" her CV read.

It took a few hours to work out..how the f**k could they know whether a cat likes indoors or outdoors ?.Do they fill in a questonaire ?

anyway I tried to take her out once-when she was fat and lazy , and the first sight of garbage can she was scrabbling for my front door. 'been there done that' was the look on her face.
