One in three teenage girls has been sexually abused by a boyfriend

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1210375...bused-boyfriend.html

Don't know if it's true, but makes shocking reading, for all those who don't have shares in private prisons that is.

Imagine if we now need to lock up a third of males,as no doubt memories will be stirred from yesteryear due to nice little compensation checks.

In fact it is worse than that.

90% of the 1400 girls interviewed had been intimate.

This means that in 10 years time the prisons of the UK could be totally full.

There is something dreadfully wrong with the way in which teens are pressurised into sexual behaviour at such a young age.

It also means that it makes a mockery of trying to enforce the age of consent at 16 - if 90% between 13 - 16 are engaging in sexual activity.

The MEDIA pushes sex at kids from every angle - and so no wonder they experiment. Then they face prison because of it.

Where have you been for the last couple of years, BR, they're already full. Last year there weren't even enough police cells to cope with the overspill.
I agree, however, with the rest of your posting.

Thanks Locked Out.

My comment was sort of ironic locking up several million people could be difficult.

The LORRY DRIVER suicide after "supposedly" Kiddie fiddling his 9 year old stepdaughter is also a weird story in conjunction with this one.

The media is trying to make out that EVERYONE is now a paedophile in the UK. Parents - Teachers - Priests - Schoolchildren.

Does anyone else see this pattern. They are LABELLING everyone and then THREATENING everyone.

This is a classic FEAR strategy.

I believe it is because the TERROR threat does not work because it is a visible threat ( and therefore we dont actually believe it ) but a PAEDO threat is more subtle. It is something that goes on ( as in the 9 year old case - behind closed curtains - it is secret )

Therefore New Labour are using this threat against people.

In addition it must confuse kids who are sexually active. All 90% of them.

Yes and don't forget, if you're 15 and have a crush on a 14 year old you're a "paedophile", according to the media (and, I'm sure, to most playground bullies).

How screwed up does that make you?

Only recently a 15 yo got away with jail by the skin of his teeth for going with an 11 yo,and that was only because they showed pics of her looking much older, and talking provocatively on a website.

and what..no research on whether boys had been abused by girls ?

one day kids are going to have to issue formal written invitations and receive a signed agreement when they want a bit of a snog.

talk about being obsessed by sex...I reckon research needs to be done on why tabloid readers are so obsessed with stories on sex.

This all started in Manchester over 100 years ago when a tabloid owner discovered stories about prostitutes around Kings Cross station suddenly sent sales soaring but brought condemnation from MPs.

That reversed when the newspaper owner kept up his sensational tales..and the first victim ?...Oscar Wilde.

I daresay that by the end of the week it will be one in five as there is a mad rush to the local cop shop to report "non-crimes". Have you noticed that the cleanup rate for "historical" cases seems to be better than the rate for current crimes. I guess it must be a way of massaging the crime figures. Heres another one from the BBC website.

The truly frightening case (I cannot find a link) was the 15 year old boy jailed for consensual sex with his 15 year old girlfriend who had his appeal rejected because the court said SOMEONE had to be the abused and someone the abuser and felt males were the guilty gender.

That article reminds me of British justice in that they cannot consent under 16 to sex acts, but can be prosecuted for engaging in them with others underage.

Simply put the law wants it both ways, even if consentual sex amongst underage partners should really be a family, not a criminal matter.Criminalising children does not solve a problem, but surely must add to existing ones, and create new ones.

that is indeed a fascinating story and it's pleasing to see some US legislators are having a re-think about the whole thing.

this statement jumps out at me: "By passing that law, legislators were sending a message, Bates said: Sex with or among children is unacceptable."

Personally...I believe kids need protecting but when they start games with each other..whatever that involves..and adults get involved or start laying down rules..psychiatrists really should be having a good look at those adults. Sick.
