TOPIC: DO NOT DRIVE IN LONDON
#50477
DO NOT DRIVE IN LONDON 14 Years, 6 Months ago
It's a nightmare at the moment; park closed; roads everywhere shut; avoid South Ken totally; my trip to Harrods and back took 2 hours (normally 20 minutes).

Nice in Harrods though - four people came up and shook my hand smiling sweetly including one lady who said "I recognised your voice".

Not the world the tabloids pretend, full of bile, hatred and spitting.

Mind you my lovely Bresse chicken (for boiling tonight a la Stein, see food post) was £45! Isn't that rather a lot for a small chicken?

No, actually; lovely day so I went in baby car which gets as many comments if not more and was a godsend nipping around blockages and between buses plus wonderfully parkable.

Do you really need me to answer that? £45 would keep me in fags for a whole week

The extravagance would have been if you'd taken the Rolls - in that traffic at 10mpg it would have been another £45 in fuel.
