I am laughing as I type this.

The TORIES and LIBERALS have won every by election in the last 2 years just about. The wins never get mentioned on the BBC except in passing.

Today the headline has been THE MASSIVE LABOUR WIN all day on the Website so far and on the news.

Straws and clutching spring to mind.

The majority was cut by nearly 25% and it was in a seat which the Tories and Liberals dont even contest much. It would be like the Tories crowing over winning Kensington.

All this silly celebrating is doing is driving the ENGLISH voters away from this minority Scottish party.

Someone should call a by election in England and then lets see how well they do !!!

I keep telling these Aussies who complain constantly about compulsorary voting tht they don't know how lucky they are.

At least they get a majority verdict when they vote and not a government that wins with a minority of votes.

I rather prefer the spelling BYE election.

Bye Bye.

The Tories only beat the BNP by 62 votes.
A good win for Labour, but a quarter of the voters vote for an independent Scotland. These are large percents for deviance, and bode ill for both the Union and consensus politics.

I know it was a by-election, but what a shameful turnout.

I think the only massive victory here was for those voters who declared apathy towards politics. With such a low turn out / major rejection of the election process, no party can claim genuine success.

They should all go away and think about that.
