TOPIC: Twits

The Fat Controller

Twits 14 Years, 5 Months ago
Twitter is dull. There I've said it! Unlike JK's board, Twitter appears to be designed for celebs to congratulate other celebs, and is crammed with 'what I am doing right this moment' text messages.

Tried it, hate it!

Yes I hate it too FC; encourages brain dead superficiality. Life in 140 characters.

It's dull isn't it? Was a big fan of Stephen Fry , but his endless self promotion is now very tiresome. Twitter is just an extension of the celeb's ego, and it gives no room for us ordinary beggars to take part.

Thanks JK for this board.

Twitter proves that celebs can be as boring as ordinary folk, and vice versa. There is plenty of room for us lowly beggars. It levels the playing field so that we can all share pointless, mundane comments with people we don't know and wouldn't otherwise think about.

I notice, even though you say you hate it JK, that you are on it.

I love forums - I love networking sites.

I find TWITTER is totally rubbish. It is basically a load of rubbish. I cant see anything interesting has ever been said. It is like a short text message publicly displayed.....there is no point to that unless someone has something to advertise.

It is therefore in my opinion a total SCAM.

Avoid twitter at all costs. It is for Tw*ts as a famous politician once joked.

Twitter has one or two entertaining comments, like this quote regarding Children in Need - "A good cause hidden beneath crass self promotion."

I think that sums up the event quite nicely.

I think it started out as just a way for family and friends to keep in touch with what each other were doing each day. The it somehow became popular.

I see it as a kind of challenge. What can we say within 140 words without being boring or mundane, and without resorting to txt spk

btw didn't Roald Dahl write a book called The Twits? Maybe it's all his fault.
