well, ITK let me say that I have enjoyed many of your posts and agreed with many too....

but... then you started posting that somehow the fact that Alan Johnson had worked at Tesco made him a legitimate target, not worthy of being a minister.

Worst of all, you took the time to trawl through my posts to try and draw some parallel between Alan Johnson and myself, and seem to gloat in the fact that I am out of work.

I do not often express myself in such strong terms (and feel free to edit or moderate) but you haven't got a f***ing clue.

My father didn't go to university in the late 50s because his family did not have the resources at that time. Yet he rose to become one of the most prominent civil servants in the country, working (as I said in another thread) with Shirley Williams and Ken Clarke.

But yeah he did a few working class jobs so he could work his way up and always treated his staff well.

I had a fairly successful international career myself, but it fell apart due to illness. I'm not looking for sympathy, heaven forbid, just don't kick people when they are down.

I'm not "kicking anyone when they are down".

YOU brought up your past career in order (maybe subconsciously?) to "add weight" to your opinion (otherwise why even bother to mention it?). I happened to remember you saying previously that you were on benefits. Both statements were volunteered by you.

You have not addressed the central issue ... Johnson has NO talent and NO skills as far as I can see and got his position (as have many others) PURELY via the Trade Unions who like to "select" and "promote" people that they feel will "tow the line" and promote their viewpoint.

I'll give you a classic example. In the West Midlands the Labour Party (whether this is a good or bad idea is another matter altogether) have been promoting "women only" shortlists.

This "rule" was suspended when a certain Mr Jack Dromey wanted a safe seat. He got put on the shortlist and got the nomination (surprise, surprise !)

Mr Jack Dromey just happens to be husband of Harriet Harman (Labour Dep Leader), he's also the Labour Party treasurer, and also the Financial controller of the Unite union (yes the very same union currently trying to bankrupt British Airways).

I brought up my career in response to your post mocking Alan Johnson for having been a shelf stacker at Tescos.

I posted that I had also worked at Tescos and gone on to a successful career. JK posted words to similar effect in reaction to your post.

Then you felt the need to go through my past posts and highlight the fact that I am not currently working. I have no problem with my current status, but do wonder what you wanted achieve by pointing it out?

The point that I was making, veritas, is that many of these people ONLY got into Parliament (and "safe" seats) purely because they joined that commie-movement called the Trade Unions (paymasters of the Labour Party - who still control one-third of the votes).

It is not because they have any skills or talents - they simply climbed the greasy pole and kow-towwed to those intent on promoting "their own kind".

What we need is people with skills and talents - not people who are "promoted" because "they are one of us".

Lets not forget that the Tories are generally in the pockets of big business... works both ways.

I think we can all agree that the majority of MPs are educated at top schools and Oxbridge. Very few have real life experience - though there are some.

The people of the UK have become detached from the political process ( and the judicial system ) This is evident every day when silly things seem to be happening in our society.

The "Dont rock the boat" view is the one that everyone subscribes to when things are going well in their life ( for obvious reasons ) and those who moan are often either disenchanted because of personal reasons or have some religious or crusading belief which compels them to point out the issues.

Until those who bury their heads in the sand decide that they are not going to believe the LIES fed to them by the Mass Media and Governments ( of all colours ) in this country we will never move forward.

Our country truly is broken. I believe still CAMERON and CLEGG are our only hope at the moment - but they will dance the tune of those who have the chequebooks ( Like we all do - so lets cut them some slack as well )

We need to all work together so BIG MONEY cant buy us all off........the time is coming when that will be possible as the ECONOMIC systems of the WORLD crash around our ears over the next few years - it is happening already.

It wont matter then whether you stack shelves or run a Multi National. We will all be equal in every possible way. Something which we seem to have forgotten with the CULT Of CELEBRITY and MONEY which has been created this last 100 years +

Our PLANET needs reformation. It needs to see GOD and see CREATION and realise that we are but guests here - and without LOVE for each other it is not going to be much fun or work. If we show LOVE to each other and work hard for each other ( not for money of course ) then we will be blessed and we will be happy.....it really is our choice.

.. and my point was that someone who is a shelf-stacker (however good at that they may be) is not automatically qualified to then become Home Secretary and take away my rights !

I don't follow your point.

Yes, big business is attracted to the Tories (and why shouldn't they be?) They have built up successful businesses and want the right environment for them to flourish further.

Thats an entirely different situation from taking someone who is a shelf stacker and letting HIM run a Government Department !!!! (LOL)

The people who RUN Tesco's may make very good Ministers .... those who stack shelves (no matter how well !) WON'T !!!!

To pit it another way ... the Tesco bosses will probably make very good shelf stackers (how hard can it be?) but that doesn;t mean that shelf-stackers will be good bosses does it?
