Firearms officers who used a Taser gun during a stand-off with fugitive Raoul Moat may have committed a crime, Sky News has learnt.

It had been claimed the use of the experimental Taser was at the discretion of individual forces.

But it has now emerged that the Home Office believes the officers who fired the gun breached the Firearms Act.

The use of the new Taser was at the local force's discretion - as dictated by the Home Office. A potential breach of the Firearms Act is based on another aspect of the affair - concerning procedure. Which execution? He shot himself and even if the police had shot him, it would not be deemed an execution unless it could be proven that they did so unnecessarily and to deliberately kill as a penalty.
One less piece of human garbage in the world now as far as I can see. I would expect no less had I or any of mine behaved in the same manner.
