Raoul Moat Taser-man kills himself 13 Years, 7 Months ago
After it emerged that his firm had had its licence cancelled earlier this week, he obviously decided that he wasn't going to profit from dealing in death anymore.

Did he? .... The Jury (and Inquest) is still out on that one !

Why would the police shoot someone who had already shot himself?
Did the police fire first, and the knee-jerk reaction cause Moat to pull the trigger?

But Moat killed himself????

The police used an illegal tasar on a man with a shotgun pointed at his own head, which caused him to pull the trigger.

Idiot.

I have to say that whereas I am capable of mature adult discussion and would have been willing to consider all views, I now choose to disengage from this thread due to the offensive manner of the poster Blackit.
End of response.

Perhaps "Idiot" is a little strong.

At the inquest of the barrister who was shot by police, it has emerged that there were 59 armed officers who had more than 100 weapons between them.

A little heavy handed ?

Its becoming quite clear from the evidence that the man was requesting speaking to his girlfriend - which wasn't allowed by police - and if they had let them speak its quite possible that the man could have been detained rather than killed.

But that would take all the fun out of the job, wouldn't it?

It seems true that the Police killed MOAT with the TASER - and this man was decent enough to know that was wrong and sadly killed himself. A decent man.

It is sad that CO19 are a bunch of THUGS with guns. They vigilantes who KILL for money. I dont agree with killing - I am a Christian and I dont agree with C019 assassinating people in cold blood.

They have killed DE MENEZES - THE LAWYER - MOAT etc. Surely it is clear now to the public that they are out of control and have no morals or values at all.

They need to be DISARMED.

A decent man? A "decent" man who can kill one man, look another in the face and pull the trigger. I shudder to think what your idea of an evil man is.
I also wonder why In The Know, who once described Moat as a "thug", has so fundamentally revised his ideas. Isn't "zeitgeist" a truly interesting thing?

I haven't "revised" my ideas, please don't distort what I said.

I said that Moat "looked" like a thug (and which bouncer doesn't?).

I also prefer a Jury to come up with a decision based on actual facts / evidence / charges - not summary execution by the police state.

Is that clear enough for you?

The decent man was the man who killed himself - the company boss ?

Who are you talking about ? There is nothing to suggest that this man was evil - even though he sold tasers. He was decent because he cared about what had happened - his aim was to protect people not kill them.

Here is a quote 'Christians' will be familiar with. "Those that live by the sword shall perish by the sword." Moat (an awfully decent chap) was a woman beating 'roid' raging illegal gun owning thug. I for one am happy that this piece of human garbage is no more and glad that he gave cause for the police to shoot him. I will save my tears for a more worthy cause.

This isn't a comment on that particular man's actions but society as a whole.

Surely you have seen that the nature of crime has changed dramatically over the past 20 to 30 years. I cannot recall ever hearing of guns or knives being used in Britain when I was young or before then except by professional crims.

These types of incidents will become more commonplace-just as there have been a rash of mass killings in the US in schools etc. There will be more and in more countries.

Agreed - but you seem to be arguing that these social misfits whould be given even more money, instead of being made to confort to the standards of a civilised society.

This is not "society's problem" - it's a problem with alot of criminal elements who will simple take and take (and make more and more excuses).

I've never been an advocate of capital punishment - but you have to admit, it IS a deterent ?

When these people finally realise that they have to conform to the accepted standards - and not keep bleating on about "their problems" - then we will be making progress.

That's clear enough for me. Just in case you miss it on the other thread.

this gung ho police attitude is spreading.

the cops in Sydney really get on my nerves now with their silly pseudo military style uniforms like from some South American dictatorship (yet most of them are either 5'4" or glaring dykes)

In Perth a harmless man tasered NINE times in the station and in Sydney an idiotic drug raid with guns blazing and one detective shot dead...by another detective behind him.

Re:Raoul Moat Taser-man kills himself 13 Years, 7 Months ago
I dont ever remember JESUS saying that ? Please dont suggest that Christians have that belief.

A Christian FORGIVES. A Christian sees GOOD in every person because they are made in the image of God.

A Christian LOVES their enemies. A Christian does good to people who HATE them.

That is Christianity.

Mr Moat was not perfect. But his actions were entirely understandable when you realise how he had been hurt an abused by the POLICE. I suggest you read about what led him from being just another Chav type person in society to someone who felt compelled to kill ( To protect himself )

Mr Moat basically looked at our Government(s) and decided that to protect yourself you have to kill - that is the way we are acting in IRAQ and AFGANISTAN ( peace = war ) so he hit out. No wonder people with limited intelligence are confused in the UK and the USA - our governments are WARMONGERS and KILL to solve their problems - yet when citizens go down that route they are branded evil and wrong.

I take it you pay tax to the Government ANON - you have actually PAID for the weapons that killed around ONE MILLION innocent Iraqui men and women and children : If you are saying what you truly believe then the treatment Mr Moat had should be dished out to you........sorry but you cant have it both ways - you are as guilty as Moat ( and so am I because I have not managed to stop our leaders warmongering )

For BR
I dont ever remember JESUS saying that ? Please dont suggest that Christians have that belief.

A Christian FORGIVES. A Chris

Matthew 26:52 King James version Jesus says...
King James Bible
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Moat was not perfect, as you say, neither is anyone. Not all are evil though as Moat was. hence, for his actions, he was rightly pursued by the authorities who are charged with the job of protecting the public, not cosseting criminal murderers and assassins.
This rightful subjection of civillians to the ruling authorities was confirmed by the Apostle Paul in Romans 13:$4 (King James) where he says...
King James Bible
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.

You have certainly taken Jesus words regarding love out of context. The love he Christian isunder obligation to love his enemies, that is, those who make themselves personal enemies. Such love (Greek a·ga?pe) is not sentimentality, based on mere personal attachment, as is usually thought of, but is a moral or social love based on deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty, and propriety, sincerely seeking the other’s good according to what is right. A·ga?pe (love) transcends personal enmities, never allowing these to cause one to abandon right principles and to retaliate in kind. As to those who oppose his Christian course and persecute him, doing so in ignorance, the servant of God will even pray for such that their eyes might be opened to see the truth concerning God and His purposes.—Matt 5:44.
As regards your attempted justification of his evil actions by citing the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, political dissatisfaction should never and will never be a successful defence against murdering innocent people.

"...political dissatisfaction should never and will never be a successful defence against murdering innocent people." So, Anon, killing Hitler (and saving the lives of millions) would not have been a successful defence?

Are the police now Judge, Jury and Executioner ?
