I must admit I'd missed Anton's recent activities, but, as I'm sure many on here will recall, he was a heck of a photographer for the NME and other music publications in the past, and, in recent years, had moved on into music videos. Well, tonight I watched the movie he directed called 'The American' - a slow-paced, thoughtful drama, set in Italy, starring George Clooney. Anyway, I was very impressed with the movie and the direction (and sumptuous cinematography), and am a bit surprised the production didn't make a bigger splash (or did I just miss it??). Well done Anton, I'll be following your work in future!

Anton Corbijn directed Control, the film about Joy Division.

If you haven't seen it you must. It won many Cannes awards in 2007.

Two movies I shall get DVDs on - I'm an Amazaddict and I'm proud of it!
