yes..great minds think alike

I am directing these protests from afar.

While it is logical for Sir Phillip Green to organise his tax affairs according to the rules and to best suit himself..(and as the late Kerry Packer said in a Parliamentary Inquiry .."you would be mad if you didn't")..the rules are clearly stuffed and globalisation is being exposed for the scam it is.

There would be plenty of money available if real taxes were collected.

Coming up soon...the campaign to make Bono and U2 pay their real taxes to save Ireland after all his phony charity work while organising his tax affairs likewise.

the revolution continues...

(can anyone explain to me why just one billion would not suffice ? ..money truly is the root of all evil..despite all his success and fame , Green looks like a thoroughly miserable bastard to me..)

Quite possibly ... but it is equally possible that Sir Philip (and his like) would think "sod this" and swan off to his tax haven home (taking all his zillions with him, and depriving 1000's of people in the UK of a job !)

Oh please ITK..he ain't going anywhere while there is a buck in it.

And if he did "sod off" what the fuck do you think would happen ?

I'll tell you what..100 people would fill the void. Do you really in your wildest dreams believe people shop at the dreadful Top Shop because of Green ?. No.

This is the greatest scam of all..the threat that some tax avoider will scarper if he isn't allowed to get away with emotional blackmail as you have outlined.

He should fuck off..he is boring, he's fucking rude and unpleasant. His show is crap and inspires greed and the man-for all his palava is just another shmutter shifter. They are a dime a dozen.

And yes Oscar Wilde was right but if you have so much money you have to live in the most boring piece of the planet..Monaco, well you ain't living.

They may not shop at Top Shop or Burton because of Philip Green - but how could the enterprise survive if he pulled out all his cash ?

The Gov clearly think its worth encouraging people like him to stay (not saying I agree !)

Lots of people can WORK for a business but very few can BUILD a business !

ITK you are using the bogus excuses that all tax avoiders use and politicians who are basically clueless , fall for.

If there is a void it will be filled. The law of supply and demand will always step in.

Every penny of profit made in Britain should be taxed. No corporation that profits out of the ordinary working taxpayer should be allowed to HQ anywhere else.

Unless you believe the likes of Green could build a fortune out of the Monte Carlo Top Shop.

McDonalds have been getting away with this crap for years on the endless claim they provide employement for young people. What they do is exploit young people.

For every McDonalds that shuts down 4 small hamburger shops would spring up in their place.

There is a government now screeching about "scroungers" and the "work-shy" ( even outrageously claiming they have no right to live in better parts of London !) merely because they apply for lawful benefits while Nanny State Corporate Welfare is out of control and comes with no strings attached.

When you get US billioniares like Warren Buffet and George Souris (both at oopposite ends of the political spectrum) saying the very rich must pay heaps more tax if capitalism is to survive, you know we are in trouble.

of course none of you picked up my carefully planted hoax whereby I (deliberately) confused Alan Sugar with Phillip Green.

please take notes as there will be an exam later.

Sugar is the miserable sod and Green the tax avoider.

Some of us simply assumed by SHOW you meant SHOP... a one letter typo. Besides they are indeed both loathsome.

Not so, veritas !

Are you not aware that 20% of shops in the High Street are standing empty (and in some areas its far worse).

Once you get a few empty shops the area goes down and even further shops close.

The idea that some philanthropist will come along and "invest" in derelict areas for the good of the community is simple a non-starter.

Kraft are currently planning to relocate their HQ to Switzerland - are you joining the boycott of all their products ?

Everyone - including you and me - will organise their affairs (legally) to their own best advantage.

You can hardly blame Corporations that do the same - they are businesses not charities (and many pension funds rely on them making profits).

well really you are proving my point. The market is only so big and it's over catered for especially in clothing.

I agree that empty shops begin a down slide and I also am fiercly anti-Westfield, the giant shopping malls owned by Aust. richest man Frank Lowy.

These Westfield's have been decimating small US town centres by placing themselves out of town and drawing all the custom.

But I predict a revival for High Streets and Town Centres as people tire of the sameness of these shopping malls.

Veritas the Seer predicts customer service will be the coming thing..small shops with good products and personal service !!

Yes you are correct...of course a person will take advantage of legal tax avoidance which is why you need tough pollies to make the buggers pay their fair share !!..no more and no less !
