I only know this because, being a semi-insomniac, I've started listening to a lot of old American radio shows on mp3 at night, but early on in his career Edwards wrote some superb comic-Raymond Chandler-style scripts for a show called 'Richard Diamond: Private Investigator', which starred Dick Powell. I doubt much of what he later wrote was quite as sharp, playful, witty and well-constructed as those old radio productions.
Loved his early stuff, especially the drama 'Days of Wine and Roses'. It's a shame he was still obsessed with making Pink Panther's long after Sellers died and these turkeys slightly marred an otherwise great film career.

Yes. That one he did with outtakes of Sellers, body doubles and Rich Little dubbing David Niven was a horrid bit of rubbish.
Funny Prunella, I'm a 75% insomniac and listen to Tony Hancock at night, unless it's Sunday when I have LBC on so I can listen to the Queen Bitch Steve Allen at breakfast!
