TOPIC: an excellent royal speech
#66456
an excellent royal speech 13 Years, 4 Months ago
.... by the King of Spain

While our Queen talked about sport and village greens in a time of crisis, the King of Spain talked of economic problems and social division. And let's not forget that Juan Carlos stood up against Tejero in the attempted coup in 1978.

Our Queen... out of touch/no idea

Spanish King.... while not a fan, he talks sense

Heres a rant - I hate the radio news on a Christmas Day morning.

On LBC today a reporter, paid to be at Sandringham said "and when they leave the church they will return to Sandringham where they will have their Christmas lunch". Who cares? Their lackies and flunkies will be servile to them away from their own families. Wheres the news value as to what they actually do? Nothing. It's vapid.

Well spotted David,I do like the Queen, and the pomp and ceremony brings this country millions, but her role does mean she's too detached from reality at times.

I'm a huge Royal Family fan too but think it's ridiculous the platitudes written and uttered in the message. I didn't even bother to watch this year.

And you're absolutely right about the coverage; the girl at Sandringham on TV was stunningly inept.

I hope, as they entered the churchyard, they had time to look at the small grave (2nd on right before the Church).

Or are they still uncaring ?
