Sex offenders win appeal against life on register 13 Years, 2 Months ago

Good. Absolute barbarism to mark somebody out as a 'subhuman' sex offender until their dying day.

Presently, anybody serving more than 30 months would have to go on the register for life. That means, for example, that the polo teacher who had an affair with the 15 year old girl just a few months short of the age of consent would be a sex offender for life (he got 4 1/2 years).

even worse in the USA where a teen boy is put on for life for having sex with his slightly underaged girlfriend and then they marry and have kids.

So the children have to pay a price as well from a patently ludicrous piece of catch all legislation born from hysteria that does nothing to protect people.

My former cop friend in Oz ran one of these 'registers' and said it was a blatant waste of time and resourses as he spent all day checking up on people not committing a crime.

He reckons most cops (and I would think they think the same in the US and UK) know it's a waste of time and a blatantly political knee jerk reaction.

The idea that anyone is somehow on a register of any description for life is unjust.

An idiot senior state politican here said the other day he thought it was a good idea in the future criminals may be 'chipped' to monitor them ( an idea that would be impossible to make work...you can't track your chipped cat because they are chipped !)

A reporter said maybe a tatooed number on the arm might be a better idea and the idiot politican fell for it and pondered before his brain clicked in as he quickly changed the subject !

It seems (according to Theresa May) that our new "fair" society will not be quite as fair as it could be !

People will be able to "apply" to come off the register 15 years AFTER the completion of any prison sentence - but (wait for it !!!) the "decision" will be left to the police (and there will be no appeal against their decision).

As the police' main objective in life is to get as many people on lists as possible (sex offenders / DNA lists / suspects / P national computer full of gossip / rumour / innuenodo etc) I can't see them falling over themselves to "agree" to someone coming off the list, can you ?

Back to the European Court !!!!

from BBC News - "Mark Williams-Thomas, a former police officer who worked in child protection, is concerned about the decision - particularly in relation to child sex offenders.

"These people are like leopards, they don't change their spots," he said.

"What we will end up with is potentially a very dangerous situation where someone has committed offences in the past and be able to say they haven't committed any new offences and therefore don't present a risk.

"But they are a risk in the same way as an alcoholic is always an alcoholic."

That lovely Mrs Load-of-Balls has just been speaking in the Commons -

from Sky News - "Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said MPs had "an obligation" to protect the public, especially children and other vulnerable groups, from sex offenders.

She said more than 25% of sex offenders went on to commit further serious crimes. The new system "must be extremely tough" to have the support of MPs, she added". news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Sex-Of...ex_Register_For_Life

So ... assuming her figures are right - 75% DO NOT go on to commit further crime but should be branded for life? (Even the 25% that she speaks of are not necessarily sex crimes either).

You are on it for life, because you have ruined the lives of so many young boys. You are considered an ongoing risk to young males. I note your failure to appeal, as an admission of guilt. You will never have freedom from the police.

You are known to them as a "High Risk Offender"!

Inshallah.

Not sure which policitian Balls is but he is quite wrong. The re-offending rate is no more than 5% worldwide- the lowest of all re-offending rates.

That doesn't mean there are not very dangerous people out there who probably need monitoring.

Note that most of the media have weaved this in with 'pedo' hysteria.

My objection is that by monitoring everyone , that leaves few resources for the very really bad nasty creatures who will attack again.

The copper you mention ITK really defeats his own argument and is typical of the hysterical thought.

If the "leopard doesn't change it's spots"-what the hell will some register do ?. A crime can be committed within a minute and as the jails are full of people re-offending-his argument is nonsensical.

After spending all this week on a campaign which was finally successful just this evening, I get very very angry about so-called 'child protection' self appointed experts who are obsessed with sex.

Our group managed to finally embarrass the government into relenting and allowing a 9 year old boy whose mother, father and siblings died in the awful Christmas Island "boat people" -tragedy to come and stay with his Sydney relatives after he attended his families funeral and Immigration sent him back to Christmas Island.

Can you imaginme his state of mind in a concentration camp full of other traunmatised refugees ?

Still the same c*nts who screech about pedos are ranting about "illegal" (which they are not) refugees.

Hello mugsy's cat !..cute name.

Let me help you !

Mr Balls is none other than Red Ed Mk 2 in other words, Ed Balls our "new" opposition Chancellor and the man who "assisted" Gordon Brown in wrecking the country's economy (but now decries anything that anyone does to put things right).

His wife, Mrs Balls, also calls herself Yvette Cooper and is Secretary of State for something-or-other.

BOTH have been investigated as they couldn't quite remember where their "home" was ! www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article4214985.ece

there are few geniune Labour Party MPs left except a few old diehards-Tony Benn, George Galloway (Labour in spirit).

Tony Blair and his ilk destroyed the party.
