Fucking hell - Ken Dodd's An Audience With... 13 Years, 2 Months ago
Hate that series (refused it three times days back when) but Dodd was brilliant.
Absolutely stunning.
My favourite line (delivered so fast nobody laughed) - "a 3-0 draw".

Yes I liked this too, wasn't it originally on itv? Also the Arena documentary afterwards was fascinting please don't start a post with the words F**king hell, it really lowers the tone.

Ken's brilliant. He has someone stand in the wings at every theatre he plays, taking notes on how every single joke fares on the night. He has records on what gags work in what towns and cities, in what times of the year, in what kinds of weather. His attention to detail is absolutely phenomenal.

Yes it was shown on ITV. I saw this funny man live about 3-4 years ago and not everybody got every joke and it started at 7.30 pm and finished at 12.45 intermission was was at 10pm. Alot of people had to leave because of work and wanted to get home so second half was half empty.

I had seen this before - but still watched again (something I normally dont do).
Yes he is quite brilliant .... just shows what "serving your apprenticeship" achieves as opposed to today's "instant" X "stars"

Another true legend we'll miss when he's gone, so see him while you can! Amazingly, he still tours regularly (google his website) and is almost certain to be playing somewhere near you soon, and should be seen live (his natural habitat) by anyone with any kind of interest in stand-up comedy whatsoever - he is The Guv'nor, respect is due.
