David Hume was pointing out the hubristic tendencies of scientists, and philosophers, back in the early 18th century (and in that sense it's about time that horribly conceited self-publicist Richard Dawkins read a bit of Hume and learnt some humility from a thinker who didn't try to make logic into an 'Us versus Them' schoolyard argument).
