DNA database, new rules 12 Years, 6 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2047970...-streets-listed.html

'More than 13,000 killers and sex offenders who are on the streets but are not currently on the national DNA database will be tracked down and added, the Home Secretary announced this evening.'

And here

'But police will also be able to apply to the new independent commissioner for the retention of suspects' DNA and fingerprints in cases where the alleged victim is considered to be vulnerable or where retention is considered necessary in the interest of the prevention or detection of crime.'

Wonder what criteria they will use to keep the dna of innocent people?

how one earth could a list of people's DNA prevent crime ?

I can see that it may help track killers but prevent ??

I reckon this is just another empire building exercise..a govt department comeing up with claims to perpetuate it's reason to exist.
