Well the Government should lower furl prices then we wouldn't have this shit happening, we pay pay higher fuel prices then the rest of Europe, and this Government are more stupid than Labour.

The reason for the strike has nothing to do with the price of fuel .... its simply the greedy drivers want more money.

They currently earn £45,000.

Simply not true ....

Austria 1.43
Belgium 1.56
Czech Rep 1.35
Denmark 1.77
France 1.60
Germany 1.68
Hungary 1.26
Ireland 1.60
Italy 1.80
Latvia 1.41
Luxembourg 1.39
Netherlands 1.70
Norway 1.89
Poland 1.35
Portugal 1.55
Slovakia 1.49
Slovenia 1.35
Spain 1.38
Sweden 1.63

Whatever the fuel prices in this country are compared to the rest of Europe, we are still being ripped off.

I am all for the strike.

Diesel is often cheaper on the continent, and of course the pound is historically low.At the former rate of around 1.50 euros to the pound our taxes looked a lot higher than the rest.

ITK never ceases to be amazed at just how many people line-up to be fleeced and ripped-off !

WHEN they get their rise ... and WHEN the price goes up again to pay for that rise ... I suppose that will be someone else's fault too ?

This strike is not about money or fuel prices, it is about working conditions, which apparently are very dangerous.

I would bet that most people on this site aren't that familiar with the working conditions of fuel delivery conditions and thus are not qualified to judge, whether they are right or wrong.

I'm all for the strikers, it will take the drivers off the roads for a few days and help clear the pollution a little bit. People in this country have been bending over and taking it far too much. Its about time someone made a stand.

not a bad idea robbiex and I see the day coming when odds and even number plates will be only alowed on the roads (bankers will have both off course)

ITK if you really believe in capitalism why would you object to anyone using their market power (ie-supply of labour) to gain higher wages if it works?...it's the way of every other business...ie : you either accept their price or don't buy ??

One would have thought that driving fuel around has ALWAYS been dangerous !
I see the loony Union say its about "pay and conditions" (ie more pay - and less work !)

It's HEADS - THEY win .... TAILS - YOU lose !

The loony left is back 9and want payback from their puppet-meister Milipede)

and look what good it did them !!! -

Spain is cutting 27bn euros ($36bn; £22.5bn) from its budget this year as part of one of the toughest austerity drives in its history.

Changes will include freezing public sector workers' salaries and reducing departmental budgets by 16.9%.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17557172

I've never quite understood why people "demonstrate" under these circumstances.

The Country is broke !
Do they expect someone to appear with a magic wand if they jump up and down like pedantic little children ?

No wonder you are in PAIN, IA !

Thought for the Day -

The drivers get £45,000 for a 40 hour week.

Thats more than we pay bomb disposal officers in Afghanistan.
