It's annoying for the smoker as they you never know which brands they have, cigs will never be banned the Government loves the tax from them and duty frees are not cheap anymore.
I think it is a ridiculous idea, a little bit like the suggestion of hiding the salt in fish and chip shops to discourage the customer from having it on their food.
All this is going to achieve is longer queues in shops.
The more you mess with this type of thing the more mess you make.
All extra taxes do is encourage smuggling,and hiding will do the same.
Same as putting a minimum price on alcohol,suddenly the ferries will be full of 'booze cruise' bandits,and the already struggling exchequer looses even more.

The government's message seems to be ... stop smoking - but not yet (as we need the taxes) !
