Nobody cares about music anymore 1 Year, 3 Months ago
This site is practically dead (as opposed to the Your Views site which still gets around 10,000 visits a day). Only Spam, mainly from Russia (amusingly, dropped right off during "the mutiny"). Those who say "but there are billions of streams a day" ignore the fact that streams cost virtually nothing and reflect curiosity, not love. There are no stars in music these days. Only fans could name or hum a BTS or OneD song. No cross overs. No mass appeal music. Labels don't sign on quality; just on stats. A million TikToks? Sign here. Like the music? Don't know - haven't listened. A&R by AI.

I agree.
Today's music isn't music.
The only proper music done these days is by the old established artists. With only a handful of exceptions, anything after 1990 should be erased.

Not sure about that Martin; some great music since 1990 (let's never forget some of my hits like Who Let The Dogs Out and I Get Knocked Down) - no, the problem with MAKING music is - kids can do it so easily and put it online so easily they don't take or ask for advice so much is unfinished. Also executives now go by stats not by ears (most are deaf anyway).

When you see bands in theater's they all well veteran established artists from our youth or childhood. Who will they past the baton to? Big names like Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Metallica, KISS, Ed Sheeran, only do festivals or arena's.
ABC are going to do a Lexicon of Love tour next year with an orchestra. It's an iconic album.
Nik Kersaw is still being booked for festivals and selling out theatre's.

Very much so, I saw him on package concert with Go West and Carol Decker. When Nik came on the women were still swooning and screaming. He looked perplex by it, he his now a silver fox as the women say.
He had string of hits but made a fortune with 4 of them. He still writes no material, I love to see him live if he came locally; he is super talented.
It's mad how his songs sounds so simple but they are structured like classical music.

Plenty of good music around but it's not really in the mainstream.
It's all the crappy chart stuff which has no tune at all.
It's like in the last decade it's all dumbed down.
The 00s wasn't too bad but as the 10s went down it's all gone downhill a bit.

Yeah, and liked most of his contemporaries no hits for 30+ years. The last hit he had was "The one and only" for Chesney Hawkes, His last solo hit was probably the Riddle in the mid-80s.
I think the women were screaming with a sense of irony for the pint-sized balding singer. He's still writing new material, that is great for him, but virtually no one is interested, because he ran out of decent tunes decades ago.

I was never the one for hits, 45's/12 inch, maxi singles Robbie; apart from Genesis just for the non album B-sides songs. I do have Match Of The Day EP, the 2 singles CD's from Calling All Stations. The singles should of been on the album they are great songs...the album needs it to be re-released with bonus tracks
I have always been an album guy and always will be.
Another band I liked in the 80's was Alabama, they were massive when I was in the States in the 80's. I didn't rush for the radio friendly 45's...I rushed for the LP's and the VHS tapes.
