You'll have noticed I haven't done my usual annual comment minute by minute - because I didn't bother to watch (like, I suspect, most people - The Brits will be on ITV 2 or 3 in future I suspect). Probably because I'm old. Possibly because there's no mass appeal music anymore. I may check out Raye just to listen but I doubt it. In 1990 they needed JK to revive the show after the Sam/Mick disaster year. I point out here that I'm not available as it's the entire music industry that needs salvaging - too big a job for anyone.

In my IMHO, there are so many independent labels out there these days. Not forgetting a lot of bedroom musicians are now trying their luck on YouTube. Many have saved and paid for their very own recording studios and pressings. Then there is Bandcamp.

Some have gone viral without any major backing apart from getting Likes and Shares from the public.
