PORTION

feedback for unsigned band 18 Years, 1 Month ago
hi there,
we are a band called PORTION, and i am hoping for JK and all you industry bods to hopefully have a listen to our tracks, and advise me as to what our next best action is. we have played all round the country, with artists including the libertines, haven, the modern, the Crimea, tim booth etc, etc, etc,
We, literally, always blow all these bands out of the water live, but we are still unsigned ( partially because we are rubbish at the promotional side of things.) so if you could all have a listen on either
www.myspace.com/portiononline
or
www.portiononline.com
and let me know the following :
1. do you like it ?
2. Should we continue trying to get a deal ?
3. What is the best course of action to try and get a deal.
Many thanks for all who can advise.
PORTION !!

average a&r listens to first 30 secs of a track...yours still have yet to start in that time. I get so many demos that sound like this it is enough to drive a man crazY! sorry for sounding harsh.
just being honest.

Dazed and confused

if you have to ask someone else if it's worth carrying on with your band, then it probably isn't.

Don't go searching for a deal. DIY is the way forward. If it means that much to you then you'll find the funding for it somewhere. Treat it like a business - build the hype - gig 3 or 4 times a week - post yourself all over the web. Go for it!

Hi Portion 18 Years, 1 Month ago
I agree with the above comment, just go for it at the moment, it`s a funny time.
Search out open mic nights and the like.

Not bad but no Crimea yet 18 Years, 1 Month ago
I was a very early Davey fan with The Crocketts (still two of my favourite Tipsheet tracks are Mrs Playing Dead and On Something) and I love The Crimea for two reasons... Davey's voice and his songs.
Neither vocals nor songs impress me with the Portion yet.
Correct your MySpace blurb. Who needs an ad in the middle of copy? Let alone in the middle of a word (themsel...ves)?
Take care of the detail and the world gets conquered without you noticing.
