Well the boycott never happened, the finals are proceeding on schedule - and the spys are still alive.

Any more predictions!? Matlock Bath for the FA Cup, maybe - and Codnor man to win Wimbledon...

Not required as I shall be in Russia for the finals.

Second visit to a huge and beautiful country.

The overnight sleeper train from Moscow to St Petersburg is unbelievable.

And only rivalled in India or the US.

You expect to meet Tolstoy or Yashin (Lev) or Bond in the corridor...

One of my favourite things in the world - a train sleeper in great comfort; the chugging sends you to sleep.

Agree with Honey and JK about sleeper trains!

For us 'on a budget people', many aspects are out of our control - and we must be based in one centre (still being researched).

Sleeper train unlikely - eyes wide open, important...

Creepy Julian Assangovich has had his internet connection cut off by Ecuador after questioning Russia's involvement in the Salisbury poisoning.

you do have to wonder how many Brits are buying into this madness.

I mean the UK & USA etc have been bombing the Be-Jesus out of Middle Eastern countries and blowing innocent civilians to smithereens by the 10,000s and in the process fucking up the entire area ie: Libya where you can now buy a few African slaves after D.Cameron's idiotic adventures there.

And yet someone (Russia? or the Russian Mafia?) has murdered (apparently) a dozen ghastly Russians in the UK..people who were traitors to their own country for a handful of cash. And not very nice people at that.
Accompanied by some ridiculous..out of proportion.. hand wringing in the West.

Accompanied by Britain's Official Boofhead Boris Johnson who insultingly calls Putin a Nazi (he most certainly isn't very nice)which is like calling those who voted for him Nazis...in a country that still reveres those who fought the Nazis (there isn't a single Russian family that didn't lose someone in WW2).

We are led by idiots.

Our Australian friend - I put it down to the sun ! - seems blissfully unaware (again !) that his own Australian government have been extremely vocal in condemning this attack (on our soil) using prohibited chemical weapons.

He also seems unaware that Australia has said "further action may follow" and has been the first to signal that aboycott of the World Cup will be among the NEXT tactics considered !

The sun can be SO dangerous (and I'm surprised they let him out in it).

Re: 100+ diplomats expelled - no boycotts 6 Years, 1 Month ago
Earlier (much) in this thread, I posted the Australian government's statement that they would not be boycotting the World Cup finals.

It was made by their Foreign Minister - Ms Bishop - on Tuesday, March 27th. Yet, sadly, ITK isn't aware and thinks it may happen!

Finalists won't boycott the Russian tournament - too much is at stake...

Following Russia's further escalation of the diplomatic row, there is now no alternative but for a further escalation by the West.

All 25 countries (supporting the UK) - so far - have taken some steps, and held others in reserve.
No option now but to increase the pressure.

Governments have been extremely clever to "hold the major sanction in reserve" and the Russians have been so stupid as to fall for it.

When the weapons inspectors report - and there is little or no doubt what their verdict will be .... then further punishment is inevitable.

Some of us have been able to see this all along, but others (too busy playing with their silly little footballs) have not had the foresight.

Facts you totally ignore -

1. 88% of FIFA members do nothing

2. No teams have withdrawn

3. Even England are going
