News of the World arrests 13 Years, 1 Month ago
So it begins - yes, I am one of those examining the phone hacking scandal (how did they know I was in the park doing a TV interview so they could set up a fake picture?).

Knacker of the Yard "Excuse me Mr Murdoch; what are all these semi naked photos of underage girls from Page 3 rejects a few years ago?"... Rupert "Damn I thought Rebecca had burned them all"...

Could this really lead to a major domino effect against Murdoch?

We are living in interesting times at the moment, with Berlusconi in Italy having major problems, could the people even bigger than the media conglomerates be looking at reigning them in?

I believe this is certainly what is happening in the UK. The so-called 'establishment'..those behind the scenes who really run the country but allow much to happen until they decide differently.

Burlosconi is just completely corrupt as Italian politics are.

So the front page story in the Guardian (anti Murdoch) is buried tiny inside the Sun and Times (Murdoch owned - like the News of the World); don't you just love it when dogs bite dogs?

But the Mail? Buries it away too. Wonder if it's a bit too close to home.

I've noticed all through this case that some papers are conspicuous by their silence on the issue. I read the Times a few days a week through dogwalking for a friend and any time the Guardian and BBC* are running with the story, the Times will have a vague mention on page 23.

* worth noting that the BBC is up with the Guardian on this story in terms of coverage, tho maybe their reasons are a bit transparent.

fruitlessly searching the Aussie newspapers for a mention of this tale. The fact they are all owned by Rupert Murdoch is entirely co-incidental.

plenty of mentions on the government ABC network. Ignored elsewhere.

Hugh Grant's article is now online:

The bugger, bugged

"Thosa are the highlights. As I drove home past the white cliffs, I thought it was interesting - apart from the fact that Paul hates people like me, and I hate people like him, we got on quite well. And, absurdly, I felt a bit guilty for recording him.

And he does have a very nice pub. The Castle Inn, Dover, for the record. There are rooms available, too. He asked me if I'd like to sample the honeymoon suite some time: "I can guarantee your privacy.""
